17th LOGIN Bangladesh Country Platform Meeting held
The 17th LOGIN Bangladesh Country Platform (BCP) meeting was held on 9 February 2016 in National Institute of Local Governance (NILG), Agargaon, Dhaka. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Golam Yahia, Director, Training and Consultancy, NILG. Sabina Yasmein, SPO, SDC facilitated the meeting. Aroma Dutta & Shefali Begum, of PRIP Trust; Samar Roy of MPG; Dr. Tofael Ahmed & Ziaul Karim, MJF; Md. Akramul Haque, DASCOH; Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar & Saif Uddin Ahmed of The Hunger Project; Santanu Lahiri, Freelance Consultant, WSP-WB; Jan Domew & Imam Mahmud Riad of Max Foundation Jan Domew; Anowarul Haq & Murad Bin Aziz of CARE BD; Ranjan Karmaker, Chandan Laheri and Pronoy Gosh of Steps; Faisal M Rahman of DW; Dr. Akira Munakata, Md. Shafiul Hasan & AKM Mizanur Rahman of JICA; Nurul Islam, of NILG; Omar Khaium of Khan Foundation; Md. Zakir Hossain, of BRAC and Salim Hossain Bhuiyan, of HLP participated in this meeting.
The meeting started with an appreciation of Mr. Santanu Lahiri’s role as Country Facilitator. He has already stepped down. Subsequently, the meeting went according to agenda. This meeting decided to exhibit a full presentation of the Third General Assembly (GA) after receiving the report from the Secretariat. It also decided to go for two-member country facilitator team and call for an expression of interest (EOI) among LOGIN BCP Members. Issues like localization of SDGs and LOGIN Mid-Term Review have been added to the agenda. Later, status of event on Social Accountability and Political Empowerment of Women was also added to the agenda. A five-member team was formed to review existing membership criteria and develop a final one.
